UNILAG engages students with coding aptitudes

Auxiliary female students of Lagos International School, have been enabled with Information Technology abilities. 

They displayed their activities on website composition and android applications at the graduation function of the Young Coders Application Development(YCAD) program, held in the school. 

The program, which graduated 50 understudies, was opened for young ladies somewhere in the range of 11 and 16. It began three months back and was done on Saturdays. 

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe said the program was gone for building up the young lady kid in innovation, taking note of that from one year from now, the YCAD program would turn into the college's Community Social Responsibility to neighboring networks. 

He stated: "From one year from now, we will utilize the program as our CSR to networks around us like Iwaya, Makoko and Bariga. We will get young ladies between the ages of 11-16 and train them." 

Clarifying that the college will screen the improvement of the preparation, he prompted guardians to profit their kids the chance to profit by the programmme. 

The program cCoordinator, Dr Chika Yinka-Banjo, said the thought was birthed by Ogundipe to relieve sexual orientation disparity by engaging the young ladies ideal from the grassroots. 

To support what they have realized, she said a whatsapp bunch where they could interface in learning would be made. 

One of the recipients, Adekile Aderunshola was cheerful that she could now structure a web. To her, it was an exciting knowledge.
