WAEC discharges 2018 May/June result, unveils pass rate




West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has discharged consequences of West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, Wednesday, in Lagos with 49.98 percent got five credits in English Language and Mathematics 

Head of Nigeria Office, Mr Olu Adenipekun, stated: 

"786,016 applicants speaking to 49.98% acquired credits or more in least of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics."In 2016, the aggregate level of hopefuls that had five credits or more in English Language and Mathematics were 52.97%, while in 2017, it was 59.22% . 

In spite of the fact that the HNO recognized that there are instances of examination misbehavior, however declined to give the insights, taking note of that it was negligible. He stated: 

"A sum of 1,578,846 competitors enrolled for the examination from 17,886 perceived auxiliary schools in Nigeria, including, out of the enlisted hopefuls, 1,572,396 applicants sat the examination. 

As indicated by him, out of the aggregate number of competitors that sat for examination in Nigeria, 1,470,338 hopefuls, speaking to 93.51% have their outcomes completely prepared and discharged.

"1,213,244 competitors speaking to 76.84% acquired credits or more in at least any five subjects (I. e with or without English Language as well as Mathematics. "858,424 hopefuls speaking to 54.59% got credits or more in at least five subjects including English Language yet without Mathematics. 

"786,016 applicants speaking to 49.98% acquired credits or more in least of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics. 

"In this class were 389,655 male and 396,361 female, speaking to 47.32% and 52.92% separately." He included:" Candidates who sat the examination and who have satisfied their monetary commitments to the Council are allowed to check the subtleties of their execution on the Council's outcomes site: www.waecdirect.org." 

He clarified that the outcome checker stick and sequential number required by contender to check results online are on competitor's keen character card utilized amid the examination.
